The Passage - Richard Solo
When the Jews and the Aramaeans were seeking refuge from their oppressors they dug into the mountain their own village in what is now referred to as "The Jerusalem of Italy", in the city of Pitigliano.
Along the worn down path of shiny stone laid more than a thousand years ago. Past where once stood a bakery and a butcher shop. Past where a Synagog once stood and off to one side a ritual bath. I stood still and gazed and thought of all that walked upon those ancient steps, so very long ago.
